This is an alternative view of Moraine Lake that most who visit here miss. Below the famous view from the rockpile there is a trail that walks along the shoreline of Lake Moraine; it is much worth the walk should you go there!
The lake's smooth surface was achieved by using an ND400 filter, the filter appears totally black and lets through 1/500th light (like a welding lens). At F/8 this allowed for a 4second exposure which is long enough to smooth out the waves, making the lake appear glass.
